About Me
I am a software developer, and in the not-too-distant past I started an indie game studio with a couple of other software developer’s called 21-6 Productions (we were never very good at naming things). None of us had any experience developing games at any level higher than tinkering, but we managed to pull together and get 21-6 off the ground. My first title was Cyclone, a programmer art casual game that eventually made its way on to the RealOne Arcade channel, albeit for a short time. Although Cyclone was a very simple 2D title, it was definitely the ah-ha moment for me personally. I had run the gauntlet of making and shipping a game after many years of tinkering, and that was truly satisfying.
My second title was Orbz. Not only did we ship Orbz on the Windows platform, using the Torque Game Engine, we shipped it on the Mac and Linux platforms, also. Then we had it ported to the Tapwave Zodiac. Then we created an arcade version of it. And just as I sold my interest in 21-6 we were in the process of porting Orbz to the Xbox Live Arcade. Not too shabby for a few folks with no game dev experience.
I helped give feedback and provided other support on some of the other titles we were working on, including Orbz 3 (unpublished, but bits of which ended up in the XLA port), GravRally, and Tube Twist. The last game that I worked on before leaving 21-6 is unpublished and is called BuggOut.
Now I’m on my own and I’m working on building my new studio Lumpy Games. I’m always on the lookout for like-minded folks to work with, so feel free to contact me if you’re interested in what we’re doing here.
